The short version
Cityfold does not collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
What stays on your device
The guides, maps and pop-up artwork are built into the app. Your passport stamps, saved trips and settings are kept on your device only and are never sent anywhere.
Location. If you turn on location from My Trip, Cityfold uses it on your device to tell whether you're in one of its cities, find the nearest pop-up and mark your passport "in person". Your location is never stored, sent to us or shared. You can turn it off any time in Settings.
Camera. The tabletop book uses the camera to place a guide on a real surface in augmented reality. Nothing the camera sees is recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Notifications. The optional City of the Day note is scheduled on your device. No push service or account is involved.
Purchases. Buying All Cities is handled by Apple through the App Store. Cityfold never sees your payment details.
Services from Apple and Wikipedia
When you look up restaurants, cafés or hotels in a guide, Cityfold asks Apple Maps for places near that neighbourhood. That request is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The same goes for walking directions, which open in Apple Maps.
Each city's local weather comes from Apple Weather. Cityfold asks for the weather at the city's centre, never at your location.
"Read on Wikipedia" opens the article in Safari. What happens there is covered by the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy.
Children
Cityfold is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
