Overview

Mission Control lets you explore public spaceflight and science information without creating an account. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect, how it stores local information, and how third-party data sources are involved.

Information we collect

Mission Control does not require account creation and the developer does not intentionally collect personal information through the app. The app does not ask you to provide your name, email address, password, payment details, contacts, photos, or precise location, and it does not create an advertising profile about you.

Information stored on your device

Mission Control may store limited information locally on your device, including cached API responses, widget refresh data, notification preferences, interface preferences, favorite missions, and lightweight state used to avoid duplicate alerts or excessive requests. This information supports app functionality and is not transmitted to the developer.

Notifications

If you grant permission, Mission Control may schedule local notifications for events such as launch countdowns, geomagnetic storm activity, and close near-Earth-object approaches. You can change notification access in iPhone Settings and adjust supported alert preferences inside the app.

Calendar access

Mission Control requests write-only calendar access only when you choose to add a mission event. The app does not read your existing calendar events. You can revoke access at any time in iPhone Settings.

Third-party data sources

Mission Control retrieves public information from services that may include NASA, NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, Launch Library 2, NASA Deep Space Network feeds, NASA Image Library, Wikipedia, and selected public RSS or Atom feeds.

When your device requests information from these services, they may receive standard technical information included in web requests, such as your IP address, network metadata, and request timing. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies; Mission Control does not control their practices.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Mission Control does not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, analytics SDKs for user profiling, in-app purchases, or payment processing. Product events used for diagnostics remain in Apple's local system logging and are not sent to the developer.

External links

The app may open external articles and mission resources in an in-app browser. Your use of an external site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy practices.

Children's privacy

Mission Control is not directed to children under 13 as a specialized children's service, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored caches and settings may remain until they expire, the app overwrites them, you change related settings, or you delete the app. Because Mission Control has no user accounts, there is no developer-held account record to delete.

This policy may be updated to reflect app, legal, or operational changes. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
